Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with at least one year of customer service experience and the ability to work weekends, nights, shifts, holidays and overnight trips. Must fulfill government-required criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas. Must secure airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges, if applicable. Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language. Spanish is preferred for our Caribbean locations. All flight attendants are required to have a valid passport. A passport is required to attend training with American Eagle.

Physical Requirements
All flight attendants must be able to lift, push and pull heavy articles as required, and reach all emergency equipment on all aircraft types. You must be between 5' and 5'11" tall. Tattoos, body piercings or tongue rings may not be visible while in company issued uniform at any time. Tattoos cannot be covered with adhesive bandages or by other methods, to render them not visible. Hand tattoos or tattoos above the shoulders are not allowed.

Citizenship
All candidates must be a United States citizen or possess the legal right to work in the U.S., including the right to travel to/from the countries American Eagle serves.

Minimum Age
You must be at least 19 years of age.

Domiciles
American Eagle operates six hubs throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico, and offers flexible domicile arrangements for flight attendants. Our domiciles are located in Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City and San Juan. Candidates must be willing and able to relocate at their own expense to any of these domicile locations.

Training
Those selected for training must attend an unpaid training program conducted at our Flight Academy in Fort Worth, Texas. Accommodations and meals are provided. Trainees will be responsible for incidental expenses incurred during training and for relocation to the assigned base. Base assignments are awarded in order of seniority. Seniority within the same incoming class is determined by birth date.

Compensation
Flight attendant wages are governed by the contract agreed upon between American Eagle and the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA), and are competitive with other regional airlines. Annual increases are based on Company anniversary dates as specified in the contract. Per diem is paid for each hour a flight attendant is away from home base. Hotels on layovers are provided by American Eagle.
