Your safety, speed and efficiency keep us soaring.
Our Fleet Service Clerks are responsible for loading and unloading cargo, as well as transporting cargo to and from the aircraft. Fleet Service Clerks also clean and service cabin interiors, lavatories, overhead storage bins and buffets.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a valid state driver's license and the ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and days off. Must fulfill government-required criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas. Must secure airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges, if applicable. Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
Physical Requirements
You must be able to drive vehicles with gross weight of 3,000 to 8,000 lbs. in areas congested with aircraft, other vehicles and/or equipment. You will also need excellent depth perception and the ability to distinguish between red, green and yellow to position these vehicles up to the aircraft. The ability to carry supplies and/or refuse containers weighing up to 50 lbs. on board aircraft is also required. While cleaning and servicing cabin interiors, Fleet Service Clerks use powered equipment, such as cargoveyors, industrial tractors, forklifts and motor scooters, in addition to manually operated equipment, such as hand trucks, lavatory service carts, cargo/baggage carts and scales, specialized cleaning fluids and various hand tools, such as pliers and screwdrivers, which may involve reaching, bending and/or twisting in confined spaces. Fleet service clerks are responsible for de-icing and pushing out or towing aircraft, plus many related guideman functions.
Citizenship
All candidates must be a United States citizen or possess the legal right to work in the U.S.
Minimum Age
You must be at least 18 years of age.
Training
Fleet Service Clerks will go through six weeks of paid training.
Compensation
All Fleet Service Clerk wages are governed by the contract agreed upon between American Eagle and the Transport Workers Union (TWU).
