Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with current airframe, powerplant and state driver’s licenses. Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and days off. Must fulfill government-required criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas. Must secure airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges, if applicable. Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language. All mechanics are required to have a valid passport.

Physical Requirements
You must be able to perform all duties under sometimes stressful conditions—such as variable weather conditions or environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, dust, vehicle emissions and jet engine noise. Must be able to bend, stoop and crawl in tight, restricted spaces; push, pull, lift and hold aircraft parts and components weighing up to 60 lbs; move and climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding weighing up to 100 lbs; and push out and/or tow aircraft, which involves driving vehicles weighing up to two tons. Work with color-coded wiring and other components, requiring the ability to differentiate colors. Must be able to read and interpret printed or computerized maintenance manuals. Must possess legible handwriting to complete forms/paperwork as required.

Citizenship
All candidates must be a United States citizen or possess the legal right to work in the U.S.

Minimum Age
You must be at least 18 years of age.

Base Locations
Maintenance bases for American Eagle are found throughout the United States and Puerto Rico in our seven hub locations, as well as in Abilene, TX; Bentonville/Fayetteville, AR; Columbus, OH; Marquette, MI; Raleigh, NC; San Jose, CA; and Springfield, MO.

American Eagle mechanics will be assigned a base location in order of preference, as listed in the application. Should relocation be involved when selecting a base location, candidates must be willing and able to relocate at their own expense.

Training
American Eagle will provide six weeks of paid training, including advanced familiarization and on-the-job training.

Compensation
All A&P mechanic wages are governed by the contract agreed upon between American Eagle and the Transport Workers Union (TWU).
